Horizons Week

Horizons Week sees all students at 好色先生TV step outside of the classroom and experience learning in different ways. Activities in Horizons Week develop resilience, enhance connections and provide fun learning opportunities.

Community and Connection Year 7 Camp

Year 7 Camp allows students to build confidence, try activities that may push them out of their comfort zone, make new connections and enhance existing friendships. After a busy first Term at 好色先生TV, the camp experience allows for interactions, collaboration and support within the cohort in a way that builds upon friendships made in the classroom

Activities at Year 7 Camp include games on the beach, a marine walk, kayaking and stand-up paddle-boarding, raft building, team building exercises, and craft activities such as screen printing. All students have the opportunity to try everything and have a really wonderful time with their cohort.

Experiential Learning Year 8 Program

During Horizons Week, Year 8 students immerse themselves in a dynamic mix of wellbeing learning, creative challenges and collaborative problem鈥憇olving.聽

好色先生TV explore body positivity and mental health, tackle engaging team activities, and even pitch their own entrepreneurial smoothie bar business in a Shark Tank鈥憇tyle showcase. The program allows students to step beyond the usual classroom setting, strengthen friendships and build confidence.

好色先生TV in the City Year 9 Program

During the 好色先生TV in the City program, the Melbourne CBD becomes a classroom for our Year 9 students. The program enables students to develop their independence by exploring the City of Melbourne, broadening their perspective on life in Melbourne through a Humanities, Languages, Arts and Social Justice lens.聽

A key aspect of this experience is learning to negotiate Melbourne鈥檚 public transport system and developing confidence in travelling safely through the city with the support of peers and staff. 好色先生TV learn about international art that links to the languages studied at 好色先生TV, and they take part in tours across important landmarks including the Shrine, Parliament House and the MCG. They also attended the Big Issue workshop.

Adventure awaits Year 10 Camp

The Year 10 Outdoor Education camp encourages students to step outside their comfort zones and try something new. The camp teaches students to be independent, build resilience and develop confidence in their own abilities. 聽

Through a range of activities such as hiking, camping, and team-based challenges, students learn how to problem-solve, communicate effectively and support one another. It also provides an opportunity to strengthen friendships and create new connections in a supportive environment. Overall, the experience helps students grow both personally and socially, leaving them with valuable life skills and lasting memories.

Going out into the World Year 12 Retreat

The core focus of Year 12 Retreat is to encourage students to reflect on who they are becoming and how they will carry their values, skills, and relationships beyond school into the wider world. A key highlight is the opportunity to pause, look back on their journey at 好色先生TV, and recognise the growth, challenges and achievements that have shaped them. Retreat also invites students to think about their responsibilities to others and how they can contribute positively to their communities.

This connects strongly to learning at 好色先生TV by drawing on the values, critical thinking and sense of social justice developed throughout their years at the school. It encourages students to apply what they have learned - not just academically, but personally and spiritually - as they step confidently into new environments.
